OLSAS GPA disappointmet
I suspect what they mean is that, per the UofT JD admissions page, your B3 is the GPA that the school uses for admissions. The website also notes that they will consider your entire academic performance. Even so, if as you say your B3 is a 3.9, you should be in good shape, GPA-wise. That being said, @scooter is right. A pass/fail grade shouldn’t be calculated by OLSAS. Definitely get in touch with them regardless. -

Didn't get a call but got the email at 8:04pm! Totally surprised me but I'm so grateful!!!!!! Stats: 175, OLSAS cGPA 3.91, Gen Stream, wrote the optional essay -

How hard is it to return to Ontario for articling or summer positions (ideally Toronto or surrounding areas). Is it all about networking and knowing people in general or is it just tougher to do compared to going to school in Ontario? -

Got the call around 10:45am PST! Missed the call but in the voicemail they left they said my application was outstanding which made my day! 🙂 - LSAT: 169 - CGPA: 3.64 B3: 3.79 - General stream Pretty top-tier softs: experienced significant adversity growing up and lots of work and volunteer experience. I think my PS and optional essay were pretty great overall which got me in! Super grateful for the opportunity 🙂- 1

Accepted to UofT 2025
Got the call around 5:30 PM. LSAT - 166 cGPA - 3.95 B3 GPA - 3.98 4th year applicant. Wrote the optional essay. I talked about my engineering internship experience and how it could help my legal career. I don't think I will be accepting. (I am praying and manifesting for an A at UBC or UVIC!!!) -

Prefacing this with: This post isn't as elaborate or as well thought-out as I would like given I'm studying for exams. I'm sorry for what you went through. Unfortunately, I'm not sure whether you'd be able to get into a Canadian law school at this time. Your low GPA isn't due to bad grades in your first year only and you likely aren't in the top percentile on the LSAT (though doing well is a required step in eventually getting there). If you improve your grades before you graduate, take a few years to work, and score exceptionally on the LSAT, then I suspect you can land somewhere. CGPA 1.37 - 1.77 LSAT Not yet taken
What was your GPA in your two most recent years of university? Some schools only look at your most recent 60 credits/2 years. theI am not sure, I am currently in my final year of my program. I took last year off, and it "reset" my GPA and took all my fails off from my last 2 years (well it was supposed too and it didn't). What were the circumstances that led to the low grades? Some schools allow applicants to apply through an "access" stream if they had one or more extenuating circumstances that contributed to their low grades (medical problems, financial issues, having to take care of a relative in respite, etc.). 1. It was prime COVID in my first year/2 years 2. I was sexually assaulted, impregnated, and had to get an abortion. That was very tough on my mental health. 3. My grandmother got diagnosed with breast cancer during my 1st year (I also moved 8 hours away alone). Have you taken a diagnostic/practice LSAT? Some folk on here got into law school with GPAs similar to yours, but with an exceptional LSAT score (top percentile). I have been doing well on the practice LSATS. -

Chances: CGPA - 3.88, LSAT - 159 (retaking in January)
Hi there, I am wondering what my chances are, and when I'll hear back for Osgoode and U of T as a fourth-year undergrad with a 3.88 CGPA, and 159 LSAT. I have done 3 internships in research & government, I'm in lots of clubs & volunteering at school and have received prestigious scholarships. I think my personal statement & reference letters were also very strong. I've been scoring in the upper 160s on PTs, trying to increase my score for the January LSAT. What do you think my chances would be with my existing LSAT score/also if I'm able to increase it? Let me know. Thank you! -

Given the information you've provided, virtually no chance at any Canadian law school. Especially UofT. That said, some people have gotten in somewhere in Canada with similar grades, but they were remarkable exceptions. Can you provide more information? What are my chances? I would assume I will never get into law school. I had many difficulties, and personal issues arise during my undergraduate year. I have applied to western University - JD (UWO, also my current university where I'm completing my undergrad in criminal justice), University of Toronto - First Year JD, University of Toronto - JD/PhD Criminology, University of Toronto - JD / MA Criminology, University of Windsor - JD, Toronto Metropolitan University - JD, Osgoode - York University - JD. -

Got the call at noon. LSAT- 166 cGPA - 3.97 4th year applicant. Wrote both essays. Most of my softs were mid but I had some pretty good work experience I was able to tie into my PS. Will be accepting!
