UNB vs Windsor Dual?
Choose UNB law. Also, I think that you have high chances at uOttawa law and TRU law, given that both uOttawa law and TRU law are not more competitive to get in compared to UNB law. Good luck! -

UNB vs Windsor Dual?
UNB seems to make more sense in this case. Personal Injury isn’t really a competitive field to enter. You likely won’t struggle too much getting a job in your hometown, especially since you have a bona fide reason to be there. You’ll likely want to minimize your debt. Windsor Dual is prohibitively expensive, even if you lived at home. Mercy has also dropped heavily in US rankings, and there’s an informative Reddit post somewhere that sorts the school into the “predatory” category now. On the other hand, UNB has a fine reputation. -

UNB vs Windsor Dual?
These are my two options at the moment. I am waitlisted for Windsor single and I have yet to hear back from Queens, Ottawa and TRU. Ideally I would like to practice personal injury law in Ontario (where I am from). Windsor is close to home for me however the price of the dual program is astronomical. If I chose UNB, would I have a good chance of being able to article/practice in Ontario? I am also scared that the tariffs being imposed will make the toll fee higher/tuition on the American side more but I do not want to jeopardize my changes of making it back to Ontario. Any insight is appreciated! -

Toronto Big Law Hireback 2025
Forgive me if this question seems naive. Aside from the obvious gut punch of not getting hired back, how fatal is it to not get hired back after articles? Is it similar to failing the 2L recruit insofar as you will struggle to land a Big Law job until you’re 2-3 years out? -

Thank you! Yes, got a call (shoutout to the woman who called me, she was a gem but I didn't catch her name because my heart was pounding in my ears!) and then an email. I think they do send rejection emails out as they don't have a login portal until you're admitted, from what I know. -

Accepted 2025- Windsor
Got accepted to Dual today, waitlisted for single back in March. not great stats so glad to be accepted, but still really hoping for single (cause the price of dual is crazy!) cGPA 3.6, LSAT 150, great work experience in government office, solid LORs, worked throughout all of undergrad in retail jobs, decent ECs took the April LSAT and waiting on score. Not feeling super confident about it though. -

R on April 15. LSAT 154 GPA 3.1 lot's of volunteer work, a master's, big law experience & i explained why both my gpa & lsat are low. -

Any interesting programs of study for a lawyer?
I strongly recommend going for Osgoode's online LLM program before considering non-Canadian options. If for no other reason than you'd be studying Canadian law. -

Toronto Big Law Hireback 2025
My information indicates firm sloppiness led to the list being made available to students when not intended. The firm then immediately moved up the "decision day" individual meetings to be able to touch base directly (as students talked and became aware of whether or not they were getting tossed). Anyone from Fasken (or with friends there): feel free to DM me if you can confirm or deny or add further details (will respect requests for anonymity and only share details you permit) or feel free to comment directly in this thread. -
