Is having a PT job where I work once a week during Friday or Saturday doable during 1L at UBC? Or is it better to focus 100% on school?

The job is working as a server and pays $35+ an hour so I am having a difficult time trying to decide...

It would be manageable, but it's not worth it. The money you'd make as a server pales in comparison to the money you could lose out on over the course of a law career if working during school impacts your grades (and it won't necessarily but it may).

Plus there are loads of great volunteering opportunities during law school that are a better use of your time and potentially more valuable down the line even in financial terms, even if they don't pay you at the time.
