Apologies for adding to the ever growing pile of posts under this topic. 

TRU - Looking into Vancouver 2L Recruit.

Const: A 

Contracts: B+ 

Torts, Crim, Property: Bs

ECs: Pro Bono, 1L Rep for Club, Sports Clubs 

Let me know what ya'll think. Starting to ramp up networking, coffee chats, etc.

Not sure what you are looking for, you are an average student from TRU. Presumably, it should be fairly common knowledge amongst your peers that it is an uphill battle to break into Vancouver.

So negative lol. Apply broadly, interview well, be likeable and you’ll get a job. You have above average grades..

Yeah, it isn't that simple. Lots of people do those things, have better grades than OP, and still don't get jobs. ~15-17 TRU students get hired in the Vancouver 2L recruit each year.

@Liability - your grades are above TRU's median, but not by that much. I had similar grades back in 2018 and got 10 interviews out of 19 applications, but 0 job offers. Like others have said, your extracurriculars are typical for a law student and won't get you across the line on their own. I've heard TRU places 20-25 per year in Vancouver these days, aka ~20%.

Apply broadly, and look at reputable firms in other parts of Metro Vancouver (PLLR, Hamilton Duncan, McQuarrie Hunter, etc.) that don't participate in the recruit.
