refused today, no email, just checked the uozone.

Non-native speaker and mature student, MBA from a top university (not from this country, but uottawa should know). And I completed my application on 29th of March.

lsat:159

CGPA: 3.13 (bachelor) and 3.4 or 3.5+ (master )

So I don’t know is it because I applied too late, or my GPA. feels like I am in a black box. (I know my lsat is not very good, but the requirement for non-native speakers is lower than 157. )

any suggestions? Can I ask the admission why I was refused?

You can certainly ask, but I doubt you'll get a helpful response. uOttawa places heavy emphasis undergraduate GPA and yours is too low to be competitive. Your LSAT isn't enough to really make up for it, and I wasn't aware of any different requirements for native/non-native speakers. Further, while the MBA is impressive, it's counted more as a "soft" extracurricular like volunteer/work experience. It's also worth noting that this was a particularly brutal cycle due to COVID and normal entry requirements (which I don't think you meet) were elevated. I'm sorry you were refused and best of luck in all of your future endeavours.

Thanks for the reply!

yeah I know my gpa is low ( I actually didn’t realized my GPA was this low until I got the CGPA conversation on 29th of March😂.  Because where I came from, we didn’t use GPA 15+ years ago). Anyway I applied mature category, so I thought maybe it doesn’t matter that much?

as for the LSAT, yes it’s on their website “If English is not your first language, the LSAT, while relevant, may carry less weight in the Admission Committee’s evaluation of the application.” But I guess if I really want to reapply, I probably should rewrite lsat, since there is nothing I can do with the GPA and LSAT is the only thing I can improve.

Ottawa is a GPA school and I don't recall many were accepted with sub 3.3 GPA.

What are your L2 or B2?  Where did you go to university?
