Reference Question

Hi I just had a quick question about references. I’m currently working in a clinic as I have a science background, but I am finding that the job requires a lot of manual labor for the duration of the shift (10hours). As a result, I am experiencing burnout and would like to possibly leave as the physical pain is affecting my LSAT studying. However, I’ve been working here for a year and would like to use my employer as a work reference. Would it be strange to ask for one if I have plans of leaving soon? I really don’t have any other employer to ask.

I don't think LOR worth/mean  anything. I really hope they can get rid of that.

Reply to your question:  there is nothing strange about that.

historicaladvantage

As long as you have 2-3 strong academic letters of references you should be good, irrespective of whether your employer offers you a reference.

With respect to asking your current supervisor, I don't think there's anything wrong with that as long as you are candid about that fact that you are planning on leaving soon to focus on LSAT studying. Hope this helps.
