Does anyone know when we will get more information about the timetable for 1L students? I know that the group is separated in cohorts and I also read online that all 1L class will be delivered remotely, with optional in-person components. Anyone have any further insights?

Last year 1L section assignments and course schedules were distributed mid-July. Also, the two-week ELGC course was offered in person on rotation. I'm unsure as to what optional in-person components will be available to this year's 1L class.

Each section has a different schedule, but all fairly similar. Classes are generally 2h long. I had one class in the morning and one class (and sometimes a seminar) in the afternoons. Always a break throughout the lunch hour - this is when clubs/events usually occur.

First semester classes = Criminal, Torts, Contracts, Legal Process 1 (full year), PubCon (full year).

Second semester classes = Property, Legal Process II, Chosen Seminar Class, Legal Process I (full year), PubCon (full year).

Also forgot to mention ELGC (ethical lawyering). That is an intensive course scheduled for the first two weeks each semester.

Hi, Obi-wan. What time do morning and afternoon classes usually start?

It varied each semester and each day. My lightest days consisted of one 2h class. My heaviest days consisted of two 2h classes and one 1h seminar.

In semester 1 most of my morning classes started at 10:30, while some started at 11:30, and my afternoon classes at 2:30.

In semester 2 I had one morning class that started at 8:30, while the rest varied b/w 10-11:30. Afternoon classes started at 2:30.

The online format also impacted schedules too. Some profs elected to post podcasts or record asynchronous lectures in lieu of live zoom lectures. In those cases, scheduled classes were reduced. Some profs made this a weekly thing, while others elected to do this for certain weeks. I heard of a prof in one section who only did asynchronous lectures and so, there was no scheduled zoom classes for that course.

If you're looking for an example of the 1L schedule take a look at the one here: https://lwdomapp3.osgoode.yorku.ca/myosgoode.nsf/0/B71DC376FCD0D05C8525842E006937AF/$FILE/Winter 2021 - Section A - Updated Dec 16 2020.pdf

Please note this is the Winter 2020 one and as such it differs from the Fall semester. Also please note that any class that follows 2:30 on this schedule are not mandatory, you pick only one of the named courses.
