Curious to know what the Calgary 2022 1L summer student pay is looking like across the board. NALP seems to shows a range from 1250 - 1350/week but some firms (e.g., Gowling) say that they pay the same as articling students ($80k/yr) which should be closer to 1500/week. Any insights into this would be great!

Calgary is going through a pay increase right now for articling students. Last year, salary for articling (and summer student) was $65000 annual across the board, as far as I know. This year, some firms are changing their articling/summer salaries.

All this to say, the pay rate is in flux, and will take some time for all firms to catch up and reach an equilibrium.

Are you aware on whether the student pay has caught up in this regard? Pro rating off the 80?

Should be able to find it all here. There's a prevalent rumour pay will go up again soon.
