Deferred Decision from Western

Hi All,

I have received notice that my application has been put on hold and my decision for Western is being deferred until my final winter grades are submitted.  I knew this was coming, but I was wondering if anyone has any insight as to if this may be a good sign, or honestly not to get my hopes up?  The caveat in all this is that, theoretically, the class size could fill between now and when I submit my final grades.  I received notification from my school that the latest the grades will be posted is May 11.  Western admin told me they expect this process takes time and they expect the grades mid-may. Just wondering if anyone could provide their insights. Thanks

It's not a bad sign. You're not declined and you're not waitlisted. It means exactly what it says - they're waiting to receive your final grades before making a decision on your application.

I and many others I know received acceptances from Western after first receiving deferred decision letters - don't lose hope, just make sure you study for finals! 🙂

Thanks for your input -- yes it means absolutely what you said: not accepted, declined, or waitlisted... yet haha!

I have completed all my exams and my final grades will be good. Essentially, my cGPA will rise to near 3.6 (which for uoft life sci is pretty damn good lol), L2 of 3.8+, and LSAT 160. Hoping for the best!!!
