How does GPA with drops calculation work if used pass fail system for some classes?

Do the courses you used pass fail for count as drops or do you get drops on top of that?

Pass/Fail courses aren't part of your GPA calculation, so they wouldn't count towards your drops.

Back in the fall I asked the admissions committee either at uvic or ubc about this question explicitly and the answer was: don’t worry about drops, they will sort it out and also that the pass/fail credits likely would be regarded as one of the discounts. This is going back quite some time now so I could be mistaken if anyone has a more concrete answer.
