Dual JD student living

Hey everyone looking for some feedback on best way to find a cheap semi furnished apartment for rent in Windsor. I have been accepted to the dual program so I am curious did many students opt to live in Detroit because apartments are much cheaper there? Or is there a specific site that people use that would yield good deals for studio or one bedroom apartments for rent. Any help is appreciated.

Just live in Windsor during your 1L, especially if you are Canadian. Very few students live in Wayne, Macomb or Oakland County, the ones that do are usually local Americans.  In fall semester of 1L only one class takes place in Detroit, second semester two. They always make sure that those two classes fall back to back to minimize time wasted going back and forth. To live in downtown Detroit will cost you an arm and a leg, and I would not recommend living in metro Detroit to a Canadian unless you have some experience renting in post-industrial cities. You can find nice places outside of downtown Detroit, my friends live in some, but there are lifestyle changes you have to take to make it work.

If you live beside uWindsor your commute to UDM will be shorter than most places in Detroit anyways, I am 15 mins from walking out my door to sitting in the UDM lecture hall.  Best site to use is Kijiji, or Facebook marketplace.
