Corporate vs Litigation Exit Opportunities

What are the pros and cons re exit opportunities for young associates in corporate vs litigation (or even subgroups) at a full service Bay St firm? For example:

Poached to the States (or other countries?)

Government

In-house

Hanging a shingle

Just curious as I am not sure which route I want to take, and will try both during articling.

My impression is that there are easier and better options from corporate. You can go abroad or in-house with skills that are often directly transferable.
