DOJ LEP / Summer

Hello,

What is the difference between the DOJ LEP and working as a 2L summer student (how does recruitment work for the latter)?

In the main, there is no difference.  The LEP is just the name of the program by which the DOJ hires and trains its 2L and articling students.

An exception would be 2L jobs that are filled pursuant to other programs, but which would not be expected to lead to articles. I can't give examples because I'm not familiar with any, but I understand some such jobs may exist in Ottawa, for instance. But the simple answer is that the LEP is, essentially, the "normal" way to get hired with the DOJ as a 2L.
