Sorry if this is a silly question, but will these pay raises increase compensation for the incoming articling student class who are are starting in August?

Also, I know this has been asked, but are non-sisters who generally offer market compensation also matching with increases (not only mid-size firms, but also bay street litigation boutiques, management-side L&E, tax boutiques, etc)?

Just bumping this. I'm a student from a lower-income family background with a high debt load, trying to financially plan 😅

So, if anyone has some insider scoop on whether the major downtown firms are offering lockstep articling student pay increases, that would be really appreciated. Or if non-sister firms are also raising. Probably not, but I'm just curious. 🙂

I have heard that articling students from several of the seven sister firms have received the same small bump as junior associates (about 5k). Not sure about non-sister firms.

Kind of related, but I heard last year that bennett jones paid their students above market... does anyone know if that is true?

Yes, at least at some firms.
