Chances for a 3rd year applicant

I'm in my second year now, and am considering applying to uOttawa for the next cycle. Would a third year applicant be as competitive as a fourth year applicant, given that they have the same stats (GPA and LSAT)? Would admissions give more weight to the Personal Statement and/or ECs for third year applicants?

Generally speaking schools accept only a handful of third year applicants. Moreover these applicants tend to have stronger stats than the average fourth year applicant.

So simply being at median is unlikely to be enough.

In short, the odds of admission are lower but if you're a strong applicant it may be worth it to apply.
