Questions about the slow cycle.

Not sure if anyone has the answer to this but any theories are appreciated. Does anyone know why the cycle seems to be so slow this year? McGill seems to be one of the slowest, as Ontario, BC, and Calgary are already in their third or fourth wave. Some schools have even started waitlists and rejections. Even compared to the McGill accepted forum last year there is significantly less people posting about their acceptances. Are they just waiting for the cegep deadline on March 1 and plan on taking more cegep students? Was there less competitive university and mature applicants?  I'm less stressed and just curious at this point.

Pure speculation: the dean of admissions went on leave recently, and there is now an interim dean of admissions. This seems to have happened in the middle of the cycle, so that might explain some of the delays in an already sometimes slow admissions process.

It seems to be so slow. I check the stupid thing every 15 minutes. The last acceptance on the forum is from January, and we are almost March now. Kind of disheartening.
