Welcome to the Canadian Law Forum!

With the closure of lawstudents.ca, we wanted to create a successor community that was as useful to applicants, students, and lawyers as our former home. We have big shoes to fill!

We're hoping that this place, together with our Discord server, can replace what we had originally lost. It may take some time as our knowledge base builds up again.

We also wanted to expand things to be useful not only to applicants and students, but to lawyers as well. Many of us have transitioned into practice as junior lawyers and are looking to get advice on our careers, areas of law, and so forth. In that spirit, we have created forums to encourage those kinds of questions and answers.

If you have any thoughts on how we can improve things, please make a post in the Questions, Suggestions and Feedback forum or hit up the #meta channel in Discord.

In the coming days, we'll be posting some archival copies of useful information from the former ls.ca website, which we hope will serve as a starting point as we build out this community.

There will be no ads on this website. I strongly dislike them and fundamentally disagree with their inclusion on most websites. If you would like to assist with server costs, which are not insubstantial, please contribute to our ongoing costs. All amounts are appreciated!

Happy to know we have an official successor! We all know the value of having a forum where we can discuss things while retaining anonymity. It is far too often that you do not get the full truth in law, owing to things such as professional responsibility, firm politics, and law school drama, or fear of embarrassment. This new forum is very welcome.

I literally just tried to login Lawstudents Canada today and found out its closed .. was this forum just started today? this announcement was posted recently, what a coincidence!

Thanks so much for this! Didn't post much on LS but was a long time lurker and I always thought a traditional forum was the best medium for these types of discussions, so really happy to see that continue!
