For US schools if your GPA is below median but above the 25th percentile, an LSAT at or above the 75th percentile would make you competitive. They have slightly stricter requirements for international students (including Canadians), but I suspect that with an LSAT in the low-mid 170s, you've got good chances of landing somewhere in the T-14.

You should listen to the most recent Spivey podcast, it goes over this question after the 10 minute mark:

Is a 3.78 LSAC GPA good enough for T14? Looks like I am in the 25th-50th percentile for most schools. Long time lurker looking for advice.

Generally speaking, American schools are more split-friendly than their Canadian counterparts. That said, all advice would be speculative until you have your LSAT score.

I got multiple T14 offers with a 3.74 LSAC GPA. That being said you need a 17mid LSAT. Not sure if this will continue but for this cycle a lot of T14 schools had hard cut offs at 170. I had T3 softs and went to UofT.
