I am an Ontario resident and looking to come back here for work. Which school is better academically and job prospects wise? The reputation of the school is very important to me. Money is a factor, but not a deciding factor for me. I want to attend the school with the most opportunities to network and learn from amazing professors. The student life and things to do, like sports, activities and clubs to join is also super important.

Thanks so much in advance. I have until May 15 (so tomorrow!!) to accept TRU and the 28th for USASK.

Their reputation, especially in Ontario, will be very similar. There will be no real difference in academics or job prospects. You should really just consider whether you'd want to live in Saskatoon or Kamloops for 3 years. Any networking USask will easily facilitate will be with counsel in Sask or AB; any networking TRU will easily facilitate will be with counsel in BC or AB--both pretty useless to you if you want to go back to Ontario. I can't comment on student life at either school specifically, but I would assume they both have their fair share of sports, activities, and clubs to join. USask is cheaper than TRU and the cost of living in Saskatoon will be lower than Kamloops'. That would be the deciding factor for me, in your shoes.

If I were you I would look into the cost difference, both tuition and cost of living, as neither are in the province you want to practice in.

Kamloops might be cheaper than Vancouver but it's become significantly more expensive. By the time I left in 2020 I was paying 1400/month for a 1bdroom and it's only gone up since then

100% USask if you want my honest opinion.

When I was looking into possibly moving to Kamloops, housing was sparse and expensive compared to Sask. Moreover, travelling to visit family (for me, in Edmonton) seemed difficult - you had to leave from their tiny airport, that flies into Calgary or Vancouver only. If you want one more factor into not choosing TRU, look at the cost of their tuition versus Saskatchewan. The price of TRU's tuition every year made my hair stand. It's insane.

I had a friend who attended USask for her 1L who absolutely loved it - she transferred into UofA for her last two years to be with family - but always raves at how engaging the curriculum was at Sask compared to even UofA. Hope this helps 🙂

I sent a PM but I currently attend TRU and am applying to transfer to USask for 2L. I attended USask for my undergrad and live in Saskatoon.
TRU's faculty is incredible but TRU as a whole and Kamloops are lacking significantly. And agreed, the airport is a pain in the ass and very expensive. House is astronomical.

I would go with USask. Cheaper tuition, lower cost of living, and I've heard Saskatoon is a great city.
