Just got my grades (oz) 5 B+s, 1B, 1A, and C+. The C+ is in pubcon and I am honestly shocked. I am really committed to Big Law and have been doing all the things (networking, activities, etc) am I out of contention or are they going to care about 1 C+?

You're not out of contention. Some firms and interviewers will care. There's nothing you can do to change it (other than a grade appeal, but you raise no reason why that's in the cards) so just focus on boosting your softs, applying to many firms, and interviewing well.

Wow that was quick. I wouldn't worry too much, I think you might get squeezed out of a couple of places based on marks but you will get OCIs with a half decent application.

I'd be pretty surprised if you didn't get any biglaw OCIs.

Do you mind if i PM you with a more specific question, regarding my application?

Sure, go for it.

You are definitely not out of the contention.  You would be doing yourself a disservice by self selecting out and not applying to the firms you are interested in.  I know a handful of people that received numerous OCIs despite having a couple below average marks.  Keep your chin up.

Had a C+, got 12 OCIs, got a job, am a happily practicing lawyer. Your grades are good enough so don’t stress and enjoy your summer.

"BigLaw" is actually a fairly large group with diverse grades cut-offs, depending I suppose on how you define it.  So, as stated above, there may be a couple of very picky firms that will red-flag a C+, but that is not the norm (assuming if it is only one C+, as in your case).  We had lots of very good candidates, and hires, with a C+ on their transcript.  And it's pretty well impossible to know with certainty who those "red flag" firms are (though I'm sure we can all take guesses), so the best thing you can do is to apply everywhere that interests you and see what happens.  I think you'll get OCI's with an A and 5 B+'s.
