I am a new grad and my grades were majority Ps, 2 LPs (was very depressed that semester), and 2Hs. Should I even try to have career as a lawyer?

Who were the profs for those two courses? Would like to avoid them next year if possible.

Don't worry about it. I was literally depressed out of my mind and didn't go to class all semester. If you're normal you'll be fine.

You can write an addendum to explain the LPs. You should talk to CDO about what to write.

The 2Hs show that you're a capable. You definitely can and will become a good lawyer.

You did go to U of T. Which looks good on a resume since it is considered the most competitive law school. So there is that.

According to this https://handbook.law.utoronto.ca/guidelines-and-procedures/grading-and-honoursdistinction-standing it would appear to me that I could translate your grades to Osgoode system as follows: B+, B+, B, B, B, B, B, C, C. That grade spread keeps you in the running for most positions out there.

You have the additional bonus that you know the reasons for your lower-than-hoped-for performance and can improve next year. There are students who worked their ass off and thought they did well, and got similar grades, and there is less hope for them to improve. But even they are average students who will get good jobs.
