I'm wondering if any past 1L's could share how much they paid for textbooks for the year? Is it difficult to find used?

I think the "brand new" price for 1L books would have been about $1200-$1500.

I was very meticulous in finding as many books used as i could (and then reselling them the next year for almost no net loss!) You have to browse Facebook marketplace fairly regularly from the first day of class until about 10 days in,. at which point you might as well buy the book new.  You will also find that some books are quite abundant for sale (i.e. 20 people wanting to sell 1L Contracts textbook) while other books are more hard to find.

1L books are generally more readily available than 2l/3L books because those courses are more specialized and it appears more students want to keep their books or perhaps did not buy them in the first place.

You can also try simply borrowing the book for free from the library. There are a fair number available in electronic form, with much fewer available from the library in print form.
