Chances? Should I take some additional courses?

Hi!

So I previously applied with the following stats (Regular category), and was waitlisted at #59

GPA: 3.33 /4.33 (with drops)

LSAT: 168 - 93rd percentile

INDEX: 881.25

And since getting diagnosed with ADHD, and receiving support I've been able to boost my LSAT Score to 173 (98th percentile).

I'm wondering if I should take some courses as an unclassified student this fall (i've already finished my undergrad), since that will be considered part of my GPA calculation, and would help me drop 2 more of my lowest scores. I am very confident in my ability get significantly better marks this time in school, and can likely boost my GPA to 3.4 or 3.5.

Current Index with 3.33 GPA (w/ drops): 906.25

My index with a 3.4 GPA (w/ drops): 915

My index with a 3.5 GPA (w/drops): 927.5

I've seen some people get in with my current index (906.5), but I'm wondering if it's still pretty risky and if y'all think it would be better to go the safer route and just take the extra courses to boost my GPA just in case.

If you've already finished your degree, taking additional courses now won't improve your GPA. You just recently boosted your LSAT to a 173 - that alone should get you a very competitive chance of getting in not only UVic but most schools in Canada. Focus on getting some work experience during your free time this cycle rather than wasting time with classes that won't impact your application.

I had contacted UVIC, and they told me know that undergraduate courses taken post-degree are considered in your GPA calculation (unless they are 100 or 200 level courses).

That's why  I had considered that as an option.

I'm currently interviewing for some interesting positions that might look good for my softs.

I'm just worried about losing out on an acceptance due to a low gpa

Undergrad GPA ( B.com )- 3.2

Graduate GPA ( LLB ) - 2.9

LSAT- 161

Hey,

I am a mom, immigrant, and a law degree holder. Sadly, my degree is non transferable and hence I have to redo my law school in Canada. I want insights into my chances of admission with this statistics  Also my first language is not English .My extra-curricular activity included educating public about importance of fitness and exercise via seminars and free classes ( home country ), free educational classes for children ( home country ), fundraising for homeless people ( home country ), charity donations ( Canada ), volunteering  in community events ( Canada ). Unfortunately, after completing LLB, I migrated to Canada and hence no experience of working under a lawyer.  I worked as a fitness trainer, school teacher, freelance makeup artist back home. I worked as a pharmacy assistant, Physiotherapy assistant, Health care aide in Canada as well.

@Devika unlikely in the regular category with those stats, unfortunately. Your LSAT score is competitive, but your GPA would likely need to be at least 3.7 to have a chance. Depending on the circumstances you might be able to apply in the inclusive category but it's hard to say your chances as that is discretionary.  Or retake the LSAT, but you would need to bump it up to at least the 90-95 percentile with your GPA.
