HELP! DO I TAKE THE LSAT AGAIN?

Hi!! I took the June LSAT and scored 160 then 163 in August. I’m registered to take the October LSAT and I need to decide by tomorrow if I’m going to take it for a third time.

For reference, my CGPA is around 3.5/3.6 and I expect my L2 to be at a 3.7 at least (I haven’t completed my final year yet). My softs are very good (research scholarship from UofT for my work at a non-profit, law firm internship, jobs at my university), so I’m hoping that will give me an edge with my very average stats.

I will be applying to all Ontario law schools + McGill. If someone had any advice on if I should try to score higher on my LSAT please let me know!! My main concern is that I will be spending too much time on my LSAT when I need to also focus on school and writing personal statements.

Good luck to everyone applying this cycle ☆

A higher lsat+GPA will be more valuable than anything else you can do to make yourself into a strong applicant. This being said, there’s no point in rewriting the test if you’re not reasonably confident that you’ll score higher than what you’ve scored so far. Have you been consistently PTing above 163? If yes, then I’d rewrite. If not, then I would just apply with the 163.

thanks for ur response! I had been scoring 164 - 168 on PTs but stopped studying after my August test date because I was mentally exhausted. That being said, it's hard to know if another month would help boost my score. Do you think there's a strong possibility of being accepted with a 163?

In that case I would rewrite but I would not study much more for the test. At this stage you might perform better after taking a good long rest from the LSAT, instead of grinding yourself into a burnout.

3.7 and 163 should get you in somewhere in Ontario for sure. But obviously the better school you want to get into, the more difficult it will be, so you need to decide for yourself how strongly you want to get into your top choice schools over others, and what median admission stats those schools have.
