I thought I would get this post started for those of us who have applied or will be applying to UCalgary for 2025.

I've just submitted my application and wrote the September LSAT on Wednesday. UCalgary is my top pick, so I was eager to get my application in ASAP. I'm also going to be applying for UVic which is a close second for me. I am on the fence for various reasons about whether I will be doing applications for Dalhousie, Osgoode, or Lincoln Alexander but those are the other schools I am considering.

Good luck everyone!

Same here! Applying broadly, but hoping to get into Calgary. Stats are roughly 3.90/4 and 164.

Good luck everyone with your applications!

Nice! I'm at a 3.95 last 60 credits and 3.6ish overall; TBD on LSAT score but I'll update once I've got it. I was hitting practice tests around 164-167 consistently then had a 169 on the last PT before I wrote, but writing it felt terrible so I'm expecting low 160s but we will see! I am also applying in my mid-30s with a graduate degree.

I'm sure you'll get in! Your life experience will also give your application additional strength, in addition to your strong stats!

Your stats sound great too and I'm sure you'll be successful as well! Hopefully we will be sharing a class this time next year 🙂 I know a lot of people voice anxiety about how holistic UCalgary is with admissions which translates to being unpredictable, but it's part of why it's my first pick - it's for sure to my advantage, but I'm also keen to be in a diverse group of other students.

Undergrad GPA ( B.com )- 3.2

Graduate GPA ( LLB ) - 2.9

LSAT- 161

Hey,

I am a mom, immigrant, and a law degree holder. Sadly, my degree is non transferable and hence I have to redo my law school in Canada. I want insights into my chances of admission with this statistics in U of Calgary. I am pretty open to study in Ontario law schools as well. I have some solid economic reasons why my GPA suffered. Also my first language is not English. My extra-curricular activity included educating public about importance of fitness and exercise via seminars and free classes ( home country ), free educational classes for children ( home country ), fundraising for homeless people ( home country ), charity donations ( Canada ), volunteering  in community events ( Canada ). Unfortunately, after completing LLB, I migrated to Canada and hence no experience of working under a lawyer.  I worked as a fitness trainer, school teacher, freelance makeup artist back home. I worked as a pharmacy assistant, Physiotherapy assistant, Health care aide in Canada as well.

In case anyone else has been checking to see if their application has gone complete for UCalgary - I just noticed today they have now received my LSAT score and there are no remaining 'to do' items through the portal.

Got a notification about a status update through email. Too scared to check, my stats are too low to be accepted this early (3.88, 162)😪

@RedTriangleEnthusiast your stats are fine - you're above the GPA median and just below the LSAT median. Hope it was an A or a WL!

Accepted 1-2 weeks ago. 165 LSAT/3.9 GPA in STEM BSc. 5 yrs work experience/P.Eng designation.

On the fence about accepting since I have a family to provide for (not quite mature student but getting there). I’m waiting to see what kind of scholarships are offered (if any) before taking the leap.
