Awh! I’m sorry. Did you have a second interview with them? Or did you get rejected after the first?

im waiting to hear about a second interview

I got an email the day after I did my first interview, the following evening. Said that they were going to move on with other candidates.

Assuming all interviews have gone out by now. Anyone know how big the BigLaw articling recruit is? Given the size of the 2L recruit and how summer students all go back for articling, I’m assuming it’s not looking good.

I asked this in my in-firms with the big law firms. They said that most of their articling positions do get filled up with the summer class, but there's always going to be a chance that someone chooses not to come back, some go to clerk, some don't get asked back because of their work performance over the summer. So the margin won't be big for articling, just a spot or two barely at some firms, but first year of associateship is when a lot more movement happens and you can probably lateral over without too many issues. Hope that helps!

Lol, you could just enjoy your summer.

But the better move career wise is to cold email firms not in the recruit and get yourself a job in law for the summer.

Yeah I understand it’s better. I’m saying what happens if you don’t get a job tho? Will firms still hire you for articling?

I know someone get a decent job in a boutique for articling. That should be fine I guess.

Hey Folks,

Assuming I got a reject from all the mainstream post-OCI firms (Blaneys, Singleton Reynolds, Robin Appleby, HHS, Loopstra etc). I did get an interview request from Dipchand LLP for next week though. Any thoughts on this firm?

If you want to do trademark stuff that's a good place to be. Though it is a very small team, if I recall, so I don't know how confident you should be in it leading to an associate position.
