Im in my final year of my under grad studying both Criminal Justice and Public Policy, what kind of opportunities should I be looking now for once April comes around. I really don't want to be left unemployed after graduation but I don't even know where to begin looking. feeling very lost so any information helps 🙏🏽

What kind of work do you want to do? In any case, this forum is more geared towards lawyers and law students so I don’t expect that you’ll get much advice here about what to do with your undergrad.

If you don't want to be unemployed I'd recommend applying for jobs.

As to what sort of jobs, you haven't provided any information other than your major so I can't really be of much help.

I will say, don't wait until April. I'd start looking in January for some or the earlier new grad postings. And for anything government remember, it can take a while for the process to move forward. So apply early.

You're going to have a hard time getting a decent job straight out undergrad with those degrees (I'm assuming you don't have any particularly in-demand skills or experience because you didn't mention them). Hell, even law enforcement jobs generally prefer other backgrounds since they view criminal justice and public administration degrees as redundant given that they provide on the job training and would prefer people who offer other skills.

Take it from a guy with a similar undergraduate background whose unemployability/underemployability was a factor in applying to law school when he was pushing 30. And my understanding is that the job market has only gotten worse.

If you don't want to be unemployed when you graduate you need to apply for a LOT of jobs starting NOW.

Are you planning on applying to law school and just looking for something to fill up a year before you start?

My current plan is to work for a year after my undergrad and then apply to law school
