Admitted today, submitted the application early September and the personal statement in December.

GPA L2 3.71, BSc

LSAT 168 (93rd percentile)

U of A is a great school but I may decline so someone else can get their dose of -45°C. DM me if you want my white fur double coat.

Hello!

Can somebody confirm that the deadline for acceptance is March 31st? I keep seeing conflicting information all over the place. Their site is really hard to navigate (•﹏•)

Also, why is the deposit so high? $1000 is quite a bit, especially when most other universities are about half that. I'm assuming most of the money is going towards first-year tuition?

Not sure about the deadline for acceptance - I imagine it depends on your offer - but for the deposit, the whole thing goes towards tuition.  It's probably that high because it's such an inconvenience when people accept their offer then land up going someone else.

It appears it is March 31 for first round acceptances. If you scroll down on this page https://www.ualberta.ca/en/law/programs/jd/admissions/index.html and look on the right, you can see deadlines. But if anyone knows otherwise let us know. The offer letter doesn't indicate any dates, and the portal only says to follow links that lead you to a generic "Accept Your Offer" page for deadlines for other faculties. I would guess the information on the Law Faculty website is up-to-date and would be honoured in any discrepancy, but the 2025 University Calendar for Law Admissions for example has old inaccurate info in it about LSATs- meaning web pages are not updated.

Yeah, I saw that too, but I wasn't one hundred percent sure because I know it changes depending on when someone receives their offer (I got mine on Jan 30th). Plus, on the page they link to from the portal, it states the deadline is May 1st for offers made before April 1st. But, like you said, that's for undergraduates, so I'm going to assume March 31st is the correct deadline.

Thanks!

I reached out to the Faculty directly after I received an offer, and admissions confirmed that the deadline is March 31st.
