Transferring to Practice in London, is it possible?

Hi all,

I am most likely jumping the gun on this one but was wondering if anyone knows how easy it is/if it is possible to practice in London (not Ontario, the big one). Is there a specific practice area that would be best to achieve this goal? From those who I have spoken to, it seems like one needs a couple years at a BL firm in Toronto (or elsewhere) to then transfer to that firm's office in London.

Wondering if anyone has advice/tips/important info or, can give me a reality check.

Thank you!!

People I’ve known who’ve gone over have either gotten scholarships like this one or did a few years in Big Law then lateraled over.

Go into big law and then talk to recruiters. I was offered interviews with litigation groups in London. A friend moved to a US shop’s London office working in insolvency.
