Chance me for UofT law (174 LSAT, 3.42 CGPA, 3.83 B3, 3.93 B2)

I'm applying this fall cycle and I've got no softs (which I'm hoping to improve on over the summer). My primary concern is my weak CGPA which I've heard UofT considers for applications. I've done 5 years of study (fifth year additional just for GPA boost). I'm also worried because my B3 is below the 25%ile which, compounded with the lack of softs and bad CGPA, I feel it makes me an incredibly weak applicant. Luckily, I did solid on my LSAT so I feel that it helps me but I can't gauge if I got a chance or not. I was thinking of taking an additional year to boost my GPA even further but honestly, six years of undergrad is starting to sound ridiculous. So, with all things considered, do I have a chance or should I take a shot at a sixth year?

It's tough to say. I hate to not give a helpful answer on this, but contrary to what U of T states, they seem to weigh cGPA considerably. There are many instances in the past of excellent B3s and good LSATs getting rejected alongside low cGPAs.

That's not to say you do not have a solid chance. Your LSAT is excellent and your B3 is not too far from the 25th percentile cut-off. A good PS may put you over the edge into admit territory.

I'd look into whether U of T considers 'extra years' towards your admissions cGPA. As it stands now, you'll likely get in everywhere else in Canada, and could have a batting chance at some of the T-14s (if this is of interest to you). If I was in your shoes, it would just no make sense to me to take on more debt for undergrad grades before debt financing an education at one of the most expensive law schools (assuming your calculated financial aid isn't significant).
