Has anyone else heard of folks getting SCC invites this week? I figure that if we confirm they have been going out this week, they are probably on the same timeline as last year, and thus after tomorrow we are formally cooked 🙃

Hi, noob applicant here.
Clarification question: last year, emails from SCC went out Monday through Thursday? (I.e. one may not yet be fully cooked, only parboiled?)

Was contacted on Monday, and know a couple other folks who were as well. Haven't heard of any invites going out since Monday, but I don't know that many people that applied.

I'm hoping I can get one or two more FC invites. But the max I've got from previous years is two so I probably shouldn't expect more. Do we know if more FC judges have yet to send out invites?

Hi guys. For those of you who got interviews with the SCC, when you replied to their email, did they send one back with the links for the interviews? I replied to them Tuesday but haven't received anything so I was just wondering. Thanks!

Based on this forum, I would assume so…like sure we aren’t being made aware of every judge who sends out their invites, but the FC has around 40 judges. So chances are there are quite a number left who have yet to send out invites.

I suspect we will remain in this state of anxiety until the first week of March, waiting for invitations but not knowing when—or if—they will arrive.

Hi all, I have two quick questions if anyone who has been through this process is able to offer some clarity 🙂

• Is there any sort of sequence to what order the courts give out offers in? I'm wondering what happens if you get an individual offer from the FC before the ONCA or FCA call day, for example. 
• For courts with interviews with individual judges, is it frowned upon to withdraw or decline an offer? I'm contemplating the above scenario where you might decline because you want to hold out for your chances at a Court that hasn't made its offers yet. But also, I can imagine someone could come out of an interview with the impression that it "didn't go too well" or it doesn't feel like a good cultural/chemistry fit on the applicant's end. Is this allowed?

Good afternoon everyone. I hate to add to the general sense of uncertainty, but judges have almost until the date offers are made (March 6) to provide their ranked list. I expect interviews will continue up until then. In the meantime, lots of judges have not yet held interviews, so there is still hope!

For #1, all of the courts you mentioned have an agreement to start making offers at the same time (3pm on March 6). Candidates have until 1pm on March 7 to accept the offer. If you receive an offer but have a preference for another court, get in touch with the director of the program. They will likely give you as much info as they can.

 

For #2, you will only get 1 offer from each court (at least for FC/FCA... I have much less knowledge of ONCA). You're welcome to decline an offer for any reason, but if you do so, you will not receive another offer from a judge of the same court. Also, keep in mind that how you viewed an interview may be very different from how a judge viewed it. I have heard lots of stories from candidates who think they bombed an interview only to receive an offer from that same judge. You are likely your harshest critic, so don't be too quick to judge how badly you think you may have done.

Just curious if anyone has heard back from the ONSC locations in Ottawa, Oshawa/Newmarket/Barrie, or London - basically just trying to figure out if I'm fully cooked on that front yet (I'm thinking I probably am 😞)
