U of A vs. UVic

These are my top two choices for law school. I was born and raised in Edmonton, so it would be the most comfortable move for me to make mentally. However, I have heard endlessly great things about Victoria -  how beautiful it is, the weather, positive experiences at the university etc. Additionally UVic has the JD/JID program - of which I’ve heard both positive and negative things. If anyone has any thoughtful comparisons to help me decide, let me know!

Victoria is very different from Edmonton, much smaller and slower. There is also a much higher cost of living, but this would be somewhat offset by the difference in tuition price. If you are interested in Indigenous law, the the JID program would be suitable, but be aware its 4 years instead of 3, so you would be paying more overall. Between the two I would pick UofA because your support system is there and support and familiarity with your surroundings help when dealing with the stress of law school.
