On a day-to-day basis how many of the readings/lectures are usually in french?

Is it possible to avoid most french reading by picking select classes?

This obviously varies from class to class, but about 10-25% of the readings in English sections of first year classes were in French. It also isn't always possible to avoid French sections of classes - course registration won't always be your friend. Bon courage - they get easier with a little practice!

This year criminal justice is either in french or bilingual (french and english on alternative days). Brush up on your French before starting law school and get used to reading dense material.

Prof. Jouet’s alternating bilingual model is unique to this year; normally, a unilingual English section is available. But tiktok is right; French readings will be assigned in most if not all courses (although they are usually in the minority) and French ability (but not necessarily perfect fluency) is very important.
