Hi everyone!

I’m incredibly grateful to have been accepted by TMU and awarded a generous scholarship. However, to secure the funding, I need to accept the offer firm by tonight. Osgoode, which is closer to home and my first choice, has not yet contacted me, and I’m starting to feel unsure about what to do. I’m an Indigenous applicant, but I’ve heard that some waitlist offers from Osgoode may have already gone out. Would it be wise to accept TMU’s offer now, or is there a possibility that I might still hear back from Osgoode? I would really appreciate any advice or thoughts you might have.

Thank you so much!

I am waiting to hear back from Osgoode too, I am hoping to hear something by the end of this week. I read that they will be releasing more As this week

Whatever you decide, don't wait until right before midnight to accept. There are many horror stories about applicants waiting until the last second then having technical difficulties cause them to miss deadlines.

I saw some people were able to request for an extension regarding scholarships from TMU. I don't know if it will work for your case since technically, it expires tonight.

If you do send them an email, the scholarship offer will have expired by the time they'll get to read your request for extension.

Congrats on the scholarship though. Best of luck with the decision!

I was admitted to Osgoode off the waitlist in 2021 just days before the start of orientation

Acceptances can come until orientation starts generally, but whether it is wise to accept depends on your stats. If you are competitive for the regular category, I would wait in your position. If you aren't competitive outside the indigenous category, I would accept the TMU offer.

This was the key advice here. I know it's too late for OP, but for posteriority, if anyone else is in this difficult situation the best thing to do would be to honestly reflect on your stats. If you were waitlisted with a mid 3.x and mid 15x (or anything lower), your chances of Osgoode were likely never good to begin with. The TMU offer would make more sense unless you're planning to retake the LSAT and reapply.

In case anyone in the future reads this post, these scholarship deadlines can be extended if you request from the school and they agree. Never hurts to ask.
