Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone here has (or knows someone that has) submitted 2 academic reference letters to Windsor rather than 1 academic and 1 non-academic AND been granted some sort of exception. I accidently made this mistake and considering that the deadline has passed, I'm wondering if there's any way they'd still consider the letters I've sent. I know that I should have read the requirements more carefully and I already feel terrible about it, so please don't beat me up about it.

Unfortunately it is a requirement, but depending on how strong the rest of your application is and the contents of your personal statement there’s always the chance it could be overlooked. I’d also consider contacting OLSAS and see if they could accommodate you.

Three years ago my academic reference was several weeks late uploading my letter. I was still waitlisted for the single JD, so I doubt they need your references RIGHT NOW. Look at the OLSAS website and see if you can still make the changes. https://www.ouac.on.ca/guide/olsas-referees/

A word of warning though, looks like the website clearly tells you some schools need a non academic referee. Good Luck OP, regardless of a good or bad outcome please update this thread for future applicants.

This happened to a friend of mine a few years back and he emailed the admissions committee and told them his situation. They let him send a non-academic reference and i'm sure the school would allow you to do the same if they really needed it. You should be okay though.

Thanks to everyone for the replies. I contacted the school and apparently they will still accept the letter past the deadline. I just sent it in via OLSAS
