Hi all,

I wanted to start a thread for folks who are planning to attend UVic Fall 2022! Interested to know who else will be there! 🙂

Hey!

I haven't paid the deposit yet and am still waiting to hear back from a few other choices, but I'll most likely just accept the offer and pay the deposit some time soon! (UVic is my top choice!). I'm excited to meet everyone in person next Fall!

Hi!! I'm just waiting on UBC as my only other consideration for Fall 2022 but UVIC is a serious contender for me.

Count me in! Will be accepting my offer in a few minutes!

little bit about me: 33 cishet male moving from Calgary with wife and two dogs (dog pic attached; Scout on left and Boo on right). Have STEM PhD but looking forward to learning outside the lab!

Confirmed my acceptance on Friday.

I was originally accepted for classes starting last year, but I deferred one year in order to better coordinate moving my family and leaving my current employer. Very excited to finally pursue this after finishing my undergrad nearly 8 years ago. 🙂

Oh I didn't think to even intro myself! I'm a 26 year old bisexual non-binary person living in Abbotsford (but was born in Victoria and grew up on the Island). I graduated with a BA(H) in Political Studies in 2017.

Haven't made my final decision yet, but will likely be accepting!

Also should someone make a Facebook group? I don't mind doing that myself either as long as people are interested in joining

I'd love something other than Facebook since I'm pretty much off social media now. Maybe a discord server or something?

I will be accepting if I don't hear back from UBC by the acceptance deadline. When does UVIC usually make a Facebook group for those accepted?

Same!!

I applied discretionary to UBC and won't hear back until May/June... so I accepted UVic and will consider myself a student there until I hear back. UBC is my only other application.

Haven't confirmed my acceptance yet but UVic has been my top choice for a number of reasons. Excited to e-meet you all and hopefully see you in person come the fall!

I'm Katrina, a 30 year old cis woman coming from Toronto, but originally from Vancouver. My partner and I will be be relocated with our dog Joe. Very excited to return to the west coast, albeit very scared of the housing market!

I've been working in community and arts organizing for a while, as well as working academia as a researcher/recently returned for a degree in ethics and equity studies.

Also, happy to start a discord if we feel that's the best platform. It would be helpful to hear others' stories who are relocating for the program.

The Law Students Society will make a 1L Facebook group. At least, they have every year for the past few years.
