4 vs. 5 courses per semester ?

Recommended Posts

I was curious whether taking 4 courses per semester would affect my application for law schools in Canada and in the U.S.? I know some schools such as Western explicitly state that 5 is preferred, however, I was wondering if schools such as UofT/Osgoode have a preference...If anyone has experience getting into either of the two schools by taking 4 courses per semester in their fourth year, I'd appreciate it! Thanks in advance.

I got into Osgoode. In my last semester I took 4 courses. I had done so during two other semesters in my undergrad as well. I don't think it had any impact but who can say.

Not the exact situation you are looking for but I took 3 courses in my first semester of fourth year (which I believe may even be considered part time), and I got accepted to Osgoode. So, I do not think 4 courses per semester will have a negative impact on your application.
