I plan on participating in the Toronto articling recruit this summer and was wondering what types of grades are usually successful? (Oz 2L)

@not not a lawyer has more experience with this than I do, and I know the articling recruit is still quite competitive, but I got the impression from my peers that a B average and a good resume and/or moot/clinic experience would make you decently competitive as well.

I defer to them, but to the extent you’re closer to the median student I wouldn’t completely write yourself off. And obviously higher grades will always be preferable.

I echo what @BlockedQuebecois said. The reason he mentioned that good resume and ECs will make you competitive as a B-average student is, I think, that when the curve is B, around 40%ish of your peers will have B average. So you need something else to stand out. B+ or higher average students will stand out by virtue of their grades. The rest need another thing to distinguish themselves with.
