I need some positive words of encouragement for next cycle. I have an 83 gpa but a super low lsat score of 149 😞 I’ve applied to two law schools- ubc and usask, as an Indigenous applicant. I don’t think I will get in this year so I am retaking the lsat because I know I can improve. However, feeling a little lost and alone right now. Sending good vibes to everyone.

Sending good vibes hombré, that’s a great GPA and I’m sure you can improve that LSAT. If you have the resources I’d recommend using 7sage as I find their analytics particularly helpful and the system is great for grinding PTs and figuring out where your weaknesses lie.

I am a long shot as well. I applied last year to UofO as a mature student and was rejected. I had no university experience (only college diploma), and a 154 LSAT.

If you are rejected this cycle, use the summer to improve your application in ways that you can. I asked the school after my rejection last spring for a post-board. The school wasn’t enthusiastic but did agree over the summer. I received several suggestions that I implemented for this round.

Best of luck!

I have a friend with a very similar story. She got a 146 on her first LSAT attempt and got rejected across the board as an Indigenous applicant two years ago. The next 12 months she spent practicing, saving money and bolstering her ECs. She ended up scoring a 163 and got accepted across the board last cycle.

It sucks now but it will only make it that much sweeter when it works out. Keep your head up and keep grinding, you got this!
