When do people usually start articling in Ontario?

I haven't heard from my principal yet about when my articling position will start, but my understanding is that there will be a bit of flexibility/room to negotiate.

I'm studying outside of Ontario so I'm out of the loop on what the "normal" thing to do is. Is there a typical time that most positions start?

Are there some hidden advantages to starting earlier or later?

Articles typically start in August. My articling offer stated I would begin within the first week of August, and that seems to be a normal timeline. I can't speak to any hidden advantages or disadvantages, but this timeline would give a month break between the June bar sitting and articling. Hope that helps!  🙂
