Articling salary question

Hey guys,

I just got a Articling job with a salary of 58k which of course I am very excited about! I love the firm, so money isnt the most important but of course it matters.

I confirmed with my firm my Articling term is 8 months so am I correct in assuming this salary is paid monthly over 8 months rather than 12, of course a 58k salary is much better in that case and will be a massive help for me!

thanks in advance

I do not think you are correct in your assumption. The salaries are usually stated as annual amounts. I would double-check with my principal, but chances are they meant 58k per annum.

Agreed with above. 58k is what you’d make if your articling term was 12 month. It’s 8 months, so you can expect 2/3 of the per annum total, which is more like 38k
