Tips for writing bar/sol second time?

Currently grappling with failure on both the barrister exam and solicitor exam, trying to prep to rewrite while also articling in busy/demanding law firm. Short question - help! Long question - any specific tips for passing this a second try? Are there prep courses worth taking? "Tricks" for studying with limited time while also working?

How many practice exams did you do last time? I found that practice exams were the single most helpful thing I did.

Curious to know what people's routines are for studying while articling - currently I'm studying only twice a week (one night a weekday, and most of the day on Sunday) and I feel like that eats up a large portion of my free time outside working. Since I will be writing the barrister exam in March does that seem reasonable enough?

You just need to suck it up and accept its eating our free time really. I passed the barristers and solicitors, but am now working on passing in a foreign jurisdiction this winter. Short term pain for long term gain is what gets me going through.

Try to not let it toll on your mental health too badly, take walks, eat healthy and calling grandma are my favorites. A lot less bar nights and weekends away with Mrs. O'Toole that's for sure.
