Socials/optional events during in-firm week

A weird question but if there's an intimate social/networking on Day 1 evening and you're not called back to Day 2 interviews by the firm before evening, will they also let you know to not come to the social/networking?

It depends on the firm. Some will cut you loose, others won’t until after the event.
