Drops and Gpa

Hello everyone, 

I failed 3 courses (9 credits) due to medical reasons. Applied for a withdrawal but due to lack of concrete 'proof' and 'correspondence' the request was rejected. I am thinking of repeating these courses as I have not repeated any. Should I repeat or will these be dropped from gpa calculation?

Each school has its own way of calculating GPA, you should consult their respective websites and consider reaching out if needed. 

Having said that, schools won't automatically drop those grades. You might be able to apply through an admission category that factors in your personal circumstances, but the onus will be on you to explain the failed courses.

I have read some posts on here and everyone seems to talk about 'before drops' and 'not including drops' regularly. I have tried looking at UVIC specifically and found nothing online indicating automatic drops. Yet everyone applying to UVIC is mentioning drops. So I am a bit confused. On the other hand UBC mentions drop of 12 worst credits..just not sure if these include courses failed.
