On every personal statement, should you discuss why you want to attend school X specifically?

If I do not discuss why I want to attend that school specifically, would it hurt my chances?

Are you applying to Ontario schools?

I normally like to add a small bit about a specific aspect of the school that I like. I don't think you should focus on it too much as it wastes space that could be used talking about yourself.

Yes. Every school in Ontario except Lakehead.

I may be mistaken. I think Windsor knew which Ontario schools I applied to. (over 9 years ago)

May be some recent applicant can clarify that.

If that is the case, then would that change your mind about "discuss why I want to attend that school specifically" ?

Your question is nonsense. What are you even asking?

To OP: It's not required, but it is recommended that your PS address in some fashion the school you are applying to. It doesn't have to be in depth - even a sentence or two. If you look at the samples posted by U of T, most say something about U of T (however briefly), but you'll also see statements that do not say much about why they want to attend that school:

https://www.law.utoronto.ca/documents/JD/UofT_Law_Personal_Statements_Examples.pdf

If the rest of your PS is well written and presents an interesting story, it's not going to matter all that much if you spend a sentence or two fluffing the school you're applying to's ego.
