Networking feels awkward

Does anyone else find it very hard to network?

I can have an amazing conversation with a practitioner, but it seems odd to me when I consider reaching out and emailing them.

Could someone provide some advice on how they got comfortable networking? It seems to come naturally to others, but I'm always stuck second-guessing when/if to reach out.

Thanks!

What is it exactly you're having trouble with? Just knowing when to reach out to others? What are you reaching out to others for?

Knowing when I suppose. Should i be reaching out after every conversation just to follow up?

What are you hoping to gain from these relationships? What is the goal here?

The answer to your question highly depends on the nature of the conversation.

Just speak with people as mentors, and mentees. Obviously space out meetings. And don't meet unless there's new things to say or ask about.

Don't be transactional about your relationships.
