Hello everyone,

 

I got accepted into my second choice school. The deadline to accept is in a few weeks and I was wondering if I could ask my first choice to make a quicker decision in light of my circumstances. I don't know if this is a faux pas, or if we're just supposed to wait. Please let me know. Thanks for your time in advance.

Just supposed to wait. If you're forced to accept your offer before hearing anything from your first choice, you just lose the deposit.

If both schools are in Ontario you could provisionally accept your second choice and still chose to hear from your first choice. Provisional acceptances become firm on June 1. Don't email your top choice to ask for a quicker decision, they would not be pleased with that.
