Bursaries @ UofC

I am curious if anyone can comment on their recent experience with bursaries at the UofC. I have average stats (163 LSAT & 3.85GPA) and received no entrance scholarships, but I was wondering about the chance of getting any sort of bursary. I do not have as RESP, live on my own with no dependents, have a small amount in an RRSP, and I will have around $1K in savings when the semester starts with no other sources of income.

My plan is to apply for a professional student line of credit and I'd be interested to hear if others in a similar financial position were awarded bursary money based on financial need. It seems weird to fill out a form asking about how much money you have in student loans/line of credit when I haven't applied for those things yet and therefore have $0 of funding to report from those sources; however, I already submitted my awards application for scholarships/bursaries.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Based off what you have said I would be very surprised if you did not receive at least a few thousand dollars per semester in needs based bursaries. That’s what I received and I reported a fair amount more savings in my application.
