Registration

A little confused on the process of registration for 1L's and hoping someone can break it down for me. 

My understanding is that all 1L's take the same courses and that the times at which you take these courses are determined for you.

So are we sent which classes we are supposed to be in ahead of the registration date and just need to plug these in ourselves? or do we register for the classes and then get informed later as to what times we ended up getting?

figured it's better to sort this out now rather than the night before registration lol.

They sent an email to your ucalgary email account last week with a link with all the information on course registration.

You get told which section of each course you are in, and you have to be sure to register in the correct section for each one! For example, Contracts 402 you could be assigned section 2, so when you register you have to select 402.02 (or however they number it). If you accidentally register in the wrong section, the admin will swap you, but better to do it correctly yourself! 

All of the sections are at the same time, and the only thing that differs between them are the profs (and required textbooks sometimes). There is absolutely 0 rush for registration for 1st year since you have no say in what sections you are in. For example, I registered a week after registration opened up and didn't have any issues.
