How to network for first year associate job in Toronto?

Currently summering in Ottawa and doing a secondment in Toronto and want to ultimately work in Toronto. Is it too early for me to start networking with recruiters for first year associate jobs? How do I go about networking? Who do I get in touch with? Coffee chats? Any tips would be appreciated.
